The Show was very inspiring and exciting. The volume and quality of the product was phenomenal! For comparison, the Las Vegas International Home Furnishing Show, which we attend twice a year, represents @3 million sq ft of showroom. The High Point International Furniture Show presents @11 million sq ft of showrooms. With the location in the heart of furniture manufacturing, you have many vendors that only show in High Point. In addition, being on the East Coast, you truly have an international representation in exhibitor as well as buyer.
Since High Point, North Carolina is in the South, you have an abundance of authentic, and exceptional antique collectors/brokers of beautiful European Antiques. We were able to establish good connections for current as well as future sourcing for design projects. Reflect on our store’s most recent blog, in which Rebecca speaks to the use of antiques in design.
Our goal was to find new, fresh vendors (furnishings that we do not see on the West Coast) to add to our curated line as well as strengthen our upholstery collection. We were successful on many accounts.
We had the opportunity to meet directly with Elaine the founder/designer/owner, order new collections for the store; as well as share with her future direction of designs that we would like to see for our store. Very receptive to our input.
Added a new vendor of pillows, artsy, with original art, screened onto pillows
Outdoor, concrete dining tables, fountain, vases… great look, quality and price. A wonderful find for outdoor projects.
The show was very stimulating with so much to see and wonderful people to meet (at dinner had a wonderful conversation with top designer, Barclay Butera). We came away with strong resources to further our curated collection at We R Home, as well as a vast “tool box” of vendors to draw upon as needed for projects. We look forward to these furnishings coming into the store and to offer these to our clients
